Day 3 - July 6th, 2013

Day 3 we woke up at Soper's Hole. Seems any time we stay there, we always get some rain - this time was no different as the boat got washed off over night.
We were too late the night before to do anything we had planned on, so we headed in around 8am to get our dive tanks filled and groceries. Took 2 trips to get the tanks in and then another for the shoppers. I hung back on the boat after helping get the tanks in and enjoyed people watching  Almost saw one mishap too as a boat was taking off with their jib up and came far too close to a moored boat. They had to back off to keep from hitting it. Also looked like they were giving the person who was trying to collect the mooring fee a hard time.
Marina Cay

After tanks were filled, we headed out to Jost Van Dyke. Since it was a pretty short trip we just motored. Got there and did some swimming before heading in for a drink and the bubbling pool. The pool wasn't doing much bubbling and the water was lower than I've ever seen it. We still enjoyed it and were there for a little while. We then headed back to the boat, started making lunch and got under way just as lunch was ready. We sailed from JVD to Marina Cay. The sailing was awesome! The bow would come up 8-10 feet off the water and then crash down with the crossbar just about hitting the water (sometimes it did). Waves would splash up and soak everyone down there - it was great to watch and fun to be down there as well!

Finally as we approached Monkey point we lowered the sails and headed in to Marina Cay. Grabbed a ball - something screwed with the depth finder as hit 0 at one point, then jumped all over. Fortunately we had 13' or so between the keel and the bottom.  Freaked me out for a minute though.

Part of the group went in to make use of the drinking man's guide. Stephanie and I stayed aboard and relaxed as we've been there done that and will be doing this again in a week with my parents. Cooked up some Mahi Mahi for dinner on the boat and relaxed. I think this was the night we ended up watching part of Die Harder, but I was too tired to watch much - we do have a 46" screen, so we figured we might as well make use of it!
